Great Balls of Fire — National Champions !!

The Kamloops Fireballs are back home with a national championship to their credit. The 16 member team was in Leduc Alberta capturing the title by going 9 & 1 during the August long weekend in the Co-Ed “C” division.
The team outlasted Amp’t of Leduc twice on Monday, August 6th, the final day,winning the first game of the true double knockout format 19-5, then securing the national championship with a 9-5 victory in the winner take all title game.
Females on the team were Tracy McLauchlan-Spencer, Ashley Flood, Nicole Cummings, Katie Forsythe, Jessie Robson and Brianne Smith.
The male component was made up of Curtis Spencer, Trevor Robbins, Luke and Dominic Hodges, Taylor Leibel, Matt McNutt, Shawn Proulx, Jordan Frost, Dustin Bitz and, Jesse Edmundson (the brother of NHLer and former Kamloops Blazer, Joel Edmundson).
Sponsored by Royal Lepage, the Fireballs are a tournament team that doesn’t play in a regular league. Their next tournaments will be the BC Provincials in Kelowna in mid September, and, Octoberfest in Kamloops during Thanksgiving weekend.
